There is two different types of workouts you can do to promote fat loss. The first is weight training. This will get you ripped and toned. The second is high intensity interval training. This will melt the fat right off your body.
Many people think it will take years to get ripped. This is not true. Depending on how much you have to loss, it could take a few weeks or a few months. Before you even get started, make sure you keep a log of every thing you eat and every workout you do. This will pay off in a big way.
To get ripped you need to workout the larger muscle groups. Such as the chest, back and thighs. Makes sure you keep your reps and sets high. Instead of 60 to 90 seconds rest between sets, lower the time to 30 seconds. This will feel like a sprint after you lower your rest between your sets and your lungs will feel it. Make sure you workout in the evening so you will burn calories when you go to sleep at night.
High intensity interval training is not long hours of cardio. It is running with spurts of sprinting. How much you want the intensity to be, depends on how much sprinting you want to do. Some people run 1 mile and then sprint a quarter mile. Some people run every half a mile and sprint every quarter mile after that. The best way to do high intensity interval training is to do a 40 second jog and a 20 second sprint. Keeping the sprints and running lower and doing more of them will be more effective. Long hours of slow pace cardio will actually make you lose muscle.
With those two types of workouts and the addition of a good diet, you will be successful in losing fat which will give your muscles superior definition and that ripped look.
