If Insulin Is Not Controlled, Fat Loss Is Difficult To Achieve

Nutrition & Food

Insulin Is A Powerful Fat Storing Hormone

Insulin is important for fat loss. The more we learn about hormones, the more we understand how they effect the bodies ability to either store fat or burn fat. While it is important to understand a good diet and exercise, it is also just as important to understand the hormones they produce. In this article we will discuss a very powerful fat storing hormone called Insulin.

Controlling Insulin Is Crucial For Fat Loss

While lowering insulin is very important for fat loss, lowering your insulin too low will have a negative effect. The benefits of lowering your insulin levels are decreasing body fat and slowing down aging. But when insulin levels dip too low, muscle gains will be harder to achieve and imbalances in energy will be experienced. So, the best approach will be to lower your insulin to maintain fat burning throughout the day but not too low to effect your energy levels.

Insulin Is Controlled By Your Diet

All carbohydrates are broken down within the body as sugar. Certain carbohydrates take longer to break down than others. Depending on the type of carbohydrates and the amount you consume will determine how much insulin is released in your body. When the blood sugar level is increased due to the carbohydrate intake, insulin is released to compensate for this increase in blood sugar. Insulin is a hormone that transports the sugar in the blood to be either stored in the muscle or the fat cells.

insulin isBy lowering your carbohydrate intake or simply removing simple carbohydrates that rapidly increase your blood sugar level, you will be able to control your insulin to some degree. Also, by combining fiber and / or protein to your meals with carbohydrates will help control the spike of your blood sugar. Insulin is not needed when blood sugar levels are not increased.

Insulin Is Controlled By Resistance Training

Another way to control your insulin is to exercise with resistance training. This will help shuttle more of the sugar to be stored in the muscles instead of fat cells.
