There are two types of Plateaus which are Plateau Metal and Fitness Plateau.
Lets talk about the plateau that gets more people frustrated and usually is why they quit before seeing any results.
A mental plateau occurs when you get bored with a routine or something in your life is taking your focus away from the workout. Exercising with a friend will help get rid of that boredom factor and keep you motivated.
As for other unexpected things that pop up, you just have to take them as they come and continue to workout the best you can under the circumstances.
Another reason may be the result of pushing too hard in your workouts. When exercising everyday without giving your body time to rest, you may reach a mental plateau which will interfere with muscle grow due to over training. Sure, it sounds like a physical thing, but it all starts with your mentality.
As for the fitness plateau, this is easier to fix then a plateau metal. To get past your fitness plateau, all you need to do is change up the routine. By changing your routine, your body will change as well.
The reason you hit a fitness plateau is because your body has adapted itself to that routine and the muscles are trained for that type of punishment. Changing your routine and the angles at which you attack the muscles will awaken the muscles and make them grow again.
