HIIT Workout - It Matters When You Do Them

Bodybuilding & Fitness

Why does it make a difference whether you do your HIIT Workout (which is short for High Intensity Interval Training Workout) before or after your weight lifting? If your goal is to gain muscle and strength verses burning fat, then when you perform your HIIT is very important.

Unlike regular cardiovascular exercise, HIIT takes up a lot of energy and burns a tremendous amount of calories in a short amount of time. This article will discuss how to effectively implement your high intensity interval training to gain the best results whether your goal is to gain strength or burn fat.

HIIT Workout To Lose Weight

When your goal is to lose weight, then you will want to do your high intensity interval training right before your weight lifting. This is because when you perform your high intensity interval training, you start the break down of fat cells and this will carry over to your weight lifting routine. You will not be able to go all out on your weight lifting but you will burn more fat as a result of doing your high intensity interval training right before.

HIIT Workout To Gain Muscle Mass

When you want to keep gaining strength and muscle mass, you need to do your high intensity interval training after your weight lifting. This is because to receive the full benefits of weight lifting, you need to be fresh and have all your energy to lift the heavy weights. When you do HIIT first, you are already depleted of your stored energy and you will not be able to fatigue the muscles enough to receive muscle gains afterwards.

Advantage Of Both

You can do both HIIT Workout and Weight Lifting to receive both of their benefits by doing each one on separate days. This way you will have enough energy to perform the weight lifting on lets say even days and on the odd days you can burn fat through your interval training.

When I go to the gym, I really have no plan going in. I just walk in, look around and see what I want to do. Is this bad? Should I have a regular routine?

Fitness can be achieved anywhere, so don’t stress about not getting to the gym. The good thing is that you are contemplating getting into shape, the next step is to take some action. In is as little as 20 minutes per day you can perform total body workouts with little to no equipment that will help improve your ability to function.
