Weight Loss

Fat Loss Food

A big misconception for a Fat Loss Food is, if it contains fat it must be bad. Not only does certain fats help you loss weight, it is extremely healthy and required for survival.

I made a list of the top 10 foods that people often stay away from because of the misleading information about the fat loss qualities. Some of these foods are high in fats, and people are misinformed about fats when it comes to fat loss. Other foods listed in this article have just gotten a bad rap over the years.

Lets get started…

Fat Loss Food – Cocoa (chocolate)

Of course when we mention chocolate, we are not talking about the milk chocolate candies that are loaded with sugar. These types of chocolates should be avoided. The natural cocoa is the fat loss food you want.

Some of the benefits of cocoa are…

  • lowers blood pressure
  • lowers blood sugar
  • may improve cognition and mood
  • higher antioxidant capacity of any fruit or vegetable.

Fat Loss Food – Coconut

With everybody on this kick of “fat is the cause of weight gain”, coconuts were wrongly accused of being a “bad” food because of its saturated fat content. The fact is coconut oil and coconut milk are loaded with short and medium chain saturated fats which helps in weight loss.

Fat Loss Food – Nuts

Nuts have a balanced source of macro-nutrients which is why they are so satisfying. Like the coconuts, people are misguided into thinking that food with fat must be bad for fat loss. The truth about fat is, it is healthy in moderation and is required to keep us thin.

Fat Loss Food – Avocado

Another high fat food, avocados are loaded with vitamin E and is a satisfying snack.

Fat Loss Food – Red Meat

An exceedingly healthy food loaded with fat loss and bodybuilding friendly nutrients like…

  • Carnitine
  • Carnosine
  • CLA
  • Creatine
  • B12.

Fat Loss Food – Eggs

The high protein, low carbohydrate and moderate fat, eggs makes this a perfect fat loss food for breakfast.

Fat Loss Food – Peanuts

If you want to control your weight, eat peanuts. Peanuts have been shown to have several mechanisms that actually aid weight loss.

First, they are a very satisfying and fulfilling fat loss food.

Second, peanuts and other nuts are extremely resistant to digestion. 10-20% of the fat contained in peanuts is not even absorbed.

Fat Loss Food – Alcohol (especially red wine)

In small amounts, alcohol can be very beneficial. 1 alcoholic beverage taken with a meal lowers the blood sugar response of that meal by up to 37%. Wine seemed to have the greatest effect while beer the least. Again, I must repeat ~ only consume small amount with a meal.

Fat Loss Food – Protein

Protein is the second most abundant substance in the body after water. As like all foods, eating protein in moderation is extremely healthy and promotes fat loss.

Protein…

  • decreases hunger
  • increase metabolism
  • decreases loss of muscle tissue
  • lowers cholesterol levels
  • stabilizes blood sugar.

Fat Loss Food – Fruit

You may be surprised to see fruit making this fat loss food list. Some bodybuilders and fitness athletes avoid fruit for a short period of time to get extremely low body fat percentages. However, doing so on a regular basis is a big mistake.

Fruit is loaded with fiber, water and a little sugar. The fiber and water is what prevents the fruit sugars from overwhelming and doing damage to our physiology.

It is important to remember fruit is not the same as store bought fruit juice. During the processing of many fruit juices, some of the good ingredients are removed like fiber and concentrate and replaced with some not so good ingredients.

Fat Loss Food Final Thought
