The Best Cardio Exercise is the one you can do everyday without getting sick of it. Pick a exercise that you enjoy doing and plan out a certain time each day to do your cardio.

There are two different types of cardio that you can perform. One is slow and steady cardio that I recommend for beginners and the other is high intensity cardio. Both have their own benefits for fat loss.

Slow And Steady Best Cardio Exercise

The slow and steady cardio is great for people who are just starting out or extremely overweight. It is easy on the joints and will allow you to build up endurance over time.

This type of cardiovascular exercise will only take you so far before you reach a plateau for fat loss. Even though it is great for beginners, it is not recommended for the long term fat loss.

The more you progress in the slow and steady cardio, the more the body will become used to the action and intensity. This is where the plateau will be felt. You’ll notice it will be harder to lose the weight. You will need to do something different to reignite the bodies ability to burn fat.

High Intensity Best Cardio Exercise

At this point, you will have to switch to the high intensity cardio. This type of cardio will raise your metabolism and preserve your muscle mass. It is the best cardio exercise for fat loss if you have the will power to do it.

The only disadvantage to this type of cardio is that it is hard to do. It takes will power and consistency to be successful. So, if you can not perform this type of cardio, stick with the slow and steady cardio because doing something is better than nothing. That is why the best cardio exercise is the one you can do everyday.

One advantage to the high intensity cardio is the duration of the exercise is less then the slow and steady cardio. The high intensity cardio is about 20 minutes in length as opposed to 1 hour or more with the slow pace cardio. You will be out of breath and will have to push yourself more, but the results will be worth it.

Best Cardio Exercise Example – Sprint Training

An example of sprint training is to start out with a light jog around a track to get your heart rate up. Then you will want to sprint the corners and walk the straight aways. Walking the straight away will allow you to regain your breath so you will be able to go all out on the next corner. Continue this walk / sprint for a total of 20 minutes. At the end of your high intensity training, you will see why sprints are the best cardio exercise.
